It’s important to the AIA Orlando Board of Directors and Design Awards Committee to recognize outstanding contributions in the design community. Please review the following Chapter Recognition Awards and nominate an individual or company in the industry.
New for 2012
- Please fill out the service recognition nomination form and send in to the AIA Orlando Office. The deadline to send in your form is Monday, January 9th. Fax the form to the AIA Office (407-898-3399) or email to karen@aiaorlando.com. No entry fee required. AIA Orlando Staff will send you details on the award you're submitting.
- Nominations must be submitted electronically in a PDF format and emailed to Karen@aiaorlando.com on Friday, February 11th.
- Winners will be recognized at the 2012 Design Awards Gala on March 31st. If you have any questions please call the AIA Office at 407–898–7006.

It's that time again!
The AIA Orlando Chapter and Design Awards Committee announce a Call for Entries for the 2012 Awards for Design Excellence. This is an opportunity to display your talents and accomplishments in celebration of design.
As in years past, we look forward to showcasing exciting and creative projects by architects throughout our design community.
All entries will be submitted electronically in a PowerPoint template format. The submission will be sent to AIA Orlando via a designated FTP site. More information to follow with detailed instructions to all firms that complete an entry registration form

Program Overview:
Seminar covers how to use an air barrier system to control air leakage through all six sides of the building envelope. Uncontrolled air movement causes most of the indoor environmental problems that occur in your buildings. This includes high heating and cooling bills, high humidly levels, air quality, drafts and mold. During the seminar we will discuss ways that using a spray polyurethane foam insulation air barrier will help seal the building from the outside. We will also cover how spray polyurethane foam insulation can help with your LEED rating. We will review applications of SPF in high performance building envelopes and roofing assemblies commercial energy codes by state will be covered and how SPF works as a vapor retarder.
