Advocacy

AIA Orlando needs members to take lead for advocacy in their local communities to strengthen the voice of the architectural profession through the engagement of elected officials, their staff, and other AIA members on issues that affect the built environment. Some of the key areas of focus for the Government Affairs Committee include growth management, historic resources, school construction, & urban design.

AIA Orlando empowers members to strengthen the voice of the architectural profession and advocate for policies that shape the built environment across all sectors; healthcare, education, aviation, themed entertainment, hospitality, government, affordable housing, and commercial facilities.

Through engagement with elected officials, staff, allied and AIA members, the Government Affairs Committee champions responsible growth, historic preservation, resilient schools, urban design, and equitable development. Together, we drive meaningful change through the power of design.
