About Tim Ronalds: He established Tim Ronalds Architects in 1982, after studying architecture at the University of Cambridge and MIT. He combined practice in its early years with teaching at the Architectural Association and Harvard. A series of small projects, including the Hampstead Poolhouse and Jackson’s Lane, formed part of the Four British Architects exhibition at the 9H Gallery in 1990 and brought early recognition to the practice.
The practice’s work is now focused on performing arts and education projects, many with social agendas. Notable award-winning projects include: The Malthouse, Canterbury; Sevenoaks School Science & Technology Centre; Wilton’s Music Hall; Alleyn’s School Lower School; Ironmonger Row Baths; Colyer-Fergusson Building, University of Kent; Sevenoaks Performing Arts Centre; Watford Music Centre; Hackney Empire; The Landmark, Ilfracombe; Chequer Mead Arts Centre
His project, the Malthouse in Canterbury was the winners for 2021 RIBA South East Building of the Year, 2021 RIBA South East Conservation Award, 2021 RIBA South East Award and AJ Retrofit Awards 2021 Cultural and Religious Buildings.
