3rd Annual Clay Shoot: “Pull 4 Purpose“​

Please join us at Blackjack Sporting Clays, one of Florida’s premier shooting venues, for AIA Orlando’s 3rd Annual Clay Shoot: PULL 4 A PURPOSE! This exciting event raises funds to support two important community initiatives: 4Roots, a nonprofit founded by 4 Rivers BBQ, and The Orlando Foundation for Architecture’s (OFA) scholarship program.

By sponsoring, your company will have the opportunity to gain valuable exposure to design and construction professionals across Central Florida, demonstrate community leadership, and support local education, sustainability, and public design awareness.

WHAT IS A CLAY SHOOT?

​

Sporting clays simulates the unpredictability of hunting field game birds and even rabbits, by using a variety of different trajectories, angles, speeds, elevations, distances, and clay target sizes. A round of sporting clays consists of 100 targets per person. Sporting Clays is shot in teams of 4 shooters. The teams move from station to station until each team has shot from each station. Any gauge shotgun may be used (over-and-under, semi-automatic, and pump-action), only if it can fire at least two shells of 12 gauge or smaller.

Shooter Package includes:​

  • 100 clays per shooter

  • Ammunition, eye and ear protection

  • One show pair of targets will be provided for the first shooter of each team only

  • One golf cart per team for the courses 24 stations

  • 4Rivers BBQ lunch and a gift bag.

 

A typical 100 round course consists of 12-14 different shooting stations, with each station presenting targets from a single trap or multiple traps. Targets are thrown as singles or pairs. 

 

Pairs include:

  • True Pair or Simultaneous Pair – thrown at the same time

  • Report Pair – the second target is thrown upon the firing or report of the shooter’s gun on the first target

 

Before the first person in every squad shoots, the squad will see a presentation of the targets so you’ll be familiar with what and how the targets are being thrown.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

  • ​Guns are NOT included with registration. Limited gun rentals available on a first come/first serve basis.

4Roots is dedicated to unearthing the power of food to build healthier communities. By engaging and educating people on where and how food is grown—and why it matters—4Roots works to restore and maintain the vital balance between people and the planet.

The Orlando Foundation for Architecture (OFA) supports public design education and provides scholarships through its 2+2+2 academic pathway with Valencia College, the University of Central Florida, and the University of Florida.

All participants must complete and sign the event waiver in order to play in the Clay Shoot. Please download and fill out the waiver, then send the signed copy to katie@aiaorlando.com prior to the event.
