4Roots is dedicated to unearthing the power of food to build healthier communities. By engaging and educating people on where and how food is grown, and why it matters. 4Roots works to restore and maintain the vital balance between people and the planet.
The Orlando Foundation for Architecture (OFA) promotes public awareness, appreciation, and enjoyment of the built environment. Its mission includes advocating for historic preservation, encouraging sustainable practices, supporting diversity in architecture, and providing scholarships for architectural education. Through its 2+2+2 scholarship program, OFA helps students at Valencia College, UCF, and UF City-Lab Orlando pursue their academic and professional goals in architecture.
WHAT IS A CLAY SHOOT?
Sporting clays simulates the unpredictability of hunting field game birds and even rabbits, by using a variety of different trajectories, angles, speeds, elevations, distances, and clay target sizes. A round of sporting clays consists of 100 targets per person. Sporting Clays is shot in teams of 4 shooters. The teams move from station to station until each team has shot from each station. Any gauge shotgun may be used (over-and-under, semi-automatic, and pump-action), only if it can fire at least two shells of 12 gauge or smaller.
Shooter Package includes:

One show pair of targets will be provided for the first shooter of each team only

One golf cart per team for the courses 24 stations

4Rivers BBQ lunch and a gift bag.
A typical 100 round course consists of 12-14 different shooting stations, with each station presenting targets from a single trap or multiple traps. Targets are thrown as singles or pairs.
Pairs include:
-
True Pair or Simultaneous Pair – thrown at the same time
-
Report Pair – the second target is thrown upon the firing or report of the shooter’s gun on the first target
Before the first person in every squad shoots, the squad will see a presentation of the targets so you’ll be familiar with what and how the targets are being thrown.

Guns are NOT included with registration. Limited gun rentals available on a first come/first serve basis.

EVERY TEAM MEMBER MUST SIGN THIS WAIVER TO PLAY
All participants must complete and sign the event waiver in order to play in the Clay Shoot. Please download and fill out the waiver, then send the signed copy to katie@aiaorlando.com prior to the event.
