AIA Florida and AIA Orlando have partnered together to offer the advanced Florida Building Code credit to Florida architects.
The course is entitled, “Preparing Code Compliant Construction Documents” and will be held via webinar on October 23, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Easter time.
This course provides a detailed overview of what and how an architect should be including in their Construction Documents, culled from the current edition of the Florida Building Code, that facilitates a road map for plans examiners to more rapidly review the design for code compliance and lessening the required time to obtain and issue a building permit. A case study for a design project is included to demonstrate providing the code required information.
At the end of this program, participants will be able to:
-
Better able to understand the need and necessity to provide Construction Document information relative to the design of a building or interior for submission for a building permit.
-
Be able to discern the important information that must be a part of the Construction Documents in order to expedite the review process.
-
Explain to a plan reviewer in a concise manner, both visually and verbally, the design parameters affected by the building code.
-
Be able to use the information contained in this class as a marketing tool for owners and builders in the ability to produce the plans so that plan review time is minimized.
