This event is brought to you by AIA Orlando AAH and AMFP (Association of Medical Facility Professionals).
This will be a half-day long program about the impact on hospitals and healthcare design due to the elimination of the Certificate of Need (CON) process in the State of Florida. The process took effect on July 1st, 2019 and will change how hospitals determine what, when, and where to build their new facilities and programs. Attendees will earn 3 AIA LUs.

Colleen's Bio:

Colleen Burton is the State Representative for District 40 in the Florida House of Representatives.


Since being elected to the Florida House in 2014, Colleen quickly distinguished herself as a leader on economic, education, and healthcare issues. Colleen currently serves as the Chief Deputy Majority Whip, Chair of the Health Quality Subcommittee and Vice Chair of the Rules Committee.


Colleen is not just a leader in Tallahassee, she is also a leader at home in Lakeland. She served as the Executive Director of the Imperial Symphony Orchestra and was then tapped to launch a countywide comprehensive community planning process called Polk Vision to improve economic, education, and community engagement opportunities for Polk County residents.

Diane's Bio:
Diane Godfrey is the AdventHealth Corporate Executive Director over Regulatory Administration.  Diane has over 40 years of healthcare related experience, with over 25 years in the area of government and regulatory affairs. She has participated in filing numerous successful CONs and CON litigations on behalf of AdventHealth.
Austin’s Bio:
Austin Purkeypile is the Chief Operating Officer at AdventHealth East Orlando. He has spent 14 years in healthcare finance, strategy and operations in California and Florida at leading faith-based and academic medical centers.
Crystal’s Bio:
Crystal Stickle is Executive Vice President of the Florida Hospital Association, which represents over 200 hospitals and health systems throughout the state. Ms. Stickle has spent the last several years at the forefront of Florida’s health care issues on both the payor and provider side.
Danielle’s Bio:
Danielle Drummond, MS, FACHE, has had a pivotal role in Lakeland Regional Health becoming one of the leading health systems in the state and nation. Her expertise earned her prestigious inclusion among the nation's Top 25 COOs in Healthcare for 2018 and led to her selection as Lakeland Regional Health's next CEO and President in 2021
Rep. Jackie Toledo:
In 2000, Jackie received her degree in Civil Engineering from USF. Recognized professionally as a Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) and the recipient of the 2002 Florida State Institute of Transportation Engineer of the Year, Jackie has made great strides in her field and has a unique perspective on solving Tampa’s infrastructure and transportation challenges.

Jan’s Bio:
Prior to joining the Firm, Jan has spent more than 20 years advancing her extensive government affairs career while lobbying the Florida Legislature and Executive Branch on behalf of numerous clients. With an expertise in health care law, Jan has represented various divisions of Florida’s hospital system as well as public universities’ Colleges of Medicine.
