National Architecture Week Kicks Off Architecture Week 2010

April 11–17

“Design is a tool, a resource, a power for the creation of beautiful, more sustainable, safe, healthy, and livable communities. Not for a privileged few but for everyone.”
George H. Miller, FAIA, AIA President

Architecture Week 2010 To showcase that tool all architects have, the AIA is launching Architecture Week 2010—a year-long virtual spotlight on the legacy and power of design and architects’ contributions to communities across the nation. Focusing on the tagline, Design Matters, Architecture Week 2010 will take place on the AIA’s social networking sites, Facebook and Twitter.

The AIA’s Facebook page, Architecture Week 2010, which will launch April 1, will serve as the hub for the online discussions, accompanied by videos that will be posted to the AIA National YouTube Channel, the AIA Shape of America Web site, and occasional live chats on Twitter. Users will be invited to share links to their pertinent content, photos, and videos as well—all culminating in a multimedia presentation that will showcase public celebrations and conversations around the nation about the impact architecture has on our lives.
