HuntonBrady Architects Designs New Medical Office Building at Florida Hospital East Orlando

East Orlando residents have more health care options close to home since a new medical office building opened in November on Lake Underhill Road at the Florida Hospital East Orlando campus. HuntonBrady Architects designed the three-story, 59,000 square feet building for owner Lillibridge.

The building is designed to complement the recent hospital expansion. The dramatic corner glass two-story curtainwall combines modern design and affordability of construction with sustainability. A series of oval-shaped ceiling and floor patterns mimic the elliptical shaped lobby, which features textured limestone wall finishes. The roof of the building is topped with heavy cornice and offices feature floor to ceiling windows.

The building’s main occupant is an outpatient surgery center for Florida Hospital. The architect focused on improving the patient and staff experience throughout the surgery center. The public areas include an enclosed children’s waiting area and places for relaxation and reflection designated as “quiet areas” for low level activity with soothing features such as walls that give the illusion of water.

The building contractor was Freese Construction.
