The Green Incentives Panel Discussion on Tuesday, October 6th informed an audience of over 35 people, on the various "green programs" for customers from the City of Orlando, Orange County, Progress Energy, and Orlando Utilities. We also had a brief overview on the new LEED updates and how to become a “LEED Accredited Professional.”

A special thank you to the Downtown Orlando Public Library for allowing us to use their 1st floor space!

The YAF NEXT ONE Event was held at the new Space Art Gallery Lounge at the corner of Rosalind. The event was a reception and presentation from designers and architects who are the NEXT that will reshape our region. We had over 75 attendees that enjoyed the six minute presentations from Dan Gordon, Wes Featherston, Chris Getz, Christian Maccarroll, Michael Lindsey, Eric Oskar Kleinsteuber and Jefre Manuel. The evening provided a welcome opportunity to network and mingle!

Yarosh and John H. “Jack” Wiles Endowed Scholarship at Florida Tech Where: Viera East Golf Club, 2300 Clubhouse Drive, Viera, FL 32955 When: Friday, November 6, at 12:30 p.m. Registration and lunch served at 11:00 a.m. Why: Marvin Yarosh and Jack Wiles were pioneers in mechanical engineering on the Space Coast. Mr. Yarosh was a founding member of the local American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers and was the first Assistant Director for the Florida Solar Energy Center. Mr. Wiles was an inspiration to all who knew him, serving as a charter member of the local ASME Chapter and playing a critical role in forming the Canaveral Council of Technical Societies. In honor of these two outstanding engineers, the local ASHRAE and ASME Chapters have teamed together to create an endowed scholarship at the Florida Institute of Technology’s Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department. This event is a fundraiser to help us reach our goal of $25,000. Details: Registration and range open at 11:00 a.m. Shotgun start: 12:30 p.m. Lunch preceding the tournament. Prizes awarded for best score, longest drive, closest to the pin, other drawings.
